Why do some people with long, gorgeous hair wear wigs & fake ponytails?

I don’t understand. That’s not necessary, even though I understand that it’s their freedom, choice & right. It just doesn’t make sense to me to see someone with waist-long hair would wear a fake ponytail or a short wig. If they wear a short wig & they have long hair, why don’t they just cut their own hair?

Ya, but it is there choice.
Its fun to look differant sometimes.
We do it because we want our hair to look different. With hairpieces, weaves whatever you want to call it we have that option without messing up our natural beautiful hair. I guess you have to have that kind of hair to understand it.
I think its so that they can make it look like their hair is more full and healthy.
And maybe its cause of the media too. . . like carrie underwood must have soo much fake hair going on for photoshoots.
Maybe so they can have both short hair and long hair? I don’t know. It’s pretty stupid to me. It always looks fake.
Because no matter what we have, we want what another has. We always want more and something different to spice things up and keep ourselves interested.
once you cut it its gone. . . . so pass me the wig please. . . . . and i dont color it eithor. can give you pantreatic cancer if you do it too much. pass that wig again. . . . . .

it’s just a fashion statement. some people like to look different often.
Probably for the same reason women with perfectly good breasts get boob implants. . . .

Hi. There are many reasons for hair extensions and wigs; Some simply don’t desire to get their own hair cut, therefore they enjoy changing their styles frequently. . . . And for hair extension the person desires a dramatic change fast.
Now, most of you might not know that orthodox judaism requires that married women have their hair covered, therefore, most of the orthodox community does wear wigs , since it covers one’s own hair , yet looks natural and nice, so wig industry grows strong specially in Brooklyn.
I keep my own hair and take care of it, yet, it’s mostly reserved only for my husband. . . . Yet, I wear human hair wigs that look natural.
Britney spears had long gorgeous hair, but she went wacko and shaved it to wear wigs.
Yeah, I dunno.
I think they do it for a change. But I find having anything on my head so uncomfortable that I would never do that.
However my hair is fairly short. Sometimes I would like it long enough to pull back or put on top of my head. I guess if I had a wig, I wouldn’t mind going through the “in between” stage when I grew it out. But, no, I don’t think so. LOL
