Do you think wigs are a bad idea?
I recently fried my hair getting an old fashioned perm my mom suggested would look great on me. What do 50 year old ladies know about modern young adult fashion? Now my hair is like straw, broken and brittle with plenty of little baby hairs that have broken off. Not only that but the perm didn’t take. Instead of making curls I have old fashioned Portuguese waterdog waves. My first thought was to try to straighten my hair with a straightening iron. But after three hours a day trying to straighten my very thick hair with one (and it still didn’t go completely straight) I gave up on that. My next thought was a Japanese straightening perm as I thought they were less damaging than other perms. Wrong. Straightening perms are relaxers and can be even more damaging on your hair than a regular perm. Since my hair is already damaged I figured this would be a bad idea and didn’t do it. My next thought was a wig, not a synthetic plastic Britney Spears/Carol Channing wig, but a wig that is realistic a HUMAN HAIR WIG. So I think I am going to do that. I know some people think wigs are weird but if you get a realistic one made of human hair I think they are fine. Nicole Kidman actually wears a wig to get that straight blonde look (her natural hair is curly and red) Ben Affleck wears toupes to hide a receding hairline and though Matthew McConaughy was voted “Best hair” by people magazine, I saw a picture of him without his toupe and it was not pretty. Dolly Parton also never leaves home without her wig and Jessica Simpson occasionally wears one to get those mindblowing, bouncy curls. I guess I’m a gutsy girl. If my wig ever fell off I’d probably just laugh really hard and tell everyone I had an exotic disease like trichomoniasis or whatever. Wigs are a great way to change your hairstyle frequently without damaging it with chemicals. And hell, a wig has got to be better than the broken straw I have left. That is why I plan to order this human hair wig, so that way I can wash and style it and it looks so real too! http://www.voguewigs.com/hm-julianne-elegante-human-hair-wig.html

They’re just artificial and more than that. . SUPERFICIAL. . ! Why would you want to be someone else? Just embrace yourself!! You will never truly love yourself if you keep trying to change yourself. . .
Go to a Dr. and he/she will recommend a shampoo, or conditioner, or something that hopefully will make you feel better. Hope I helped! =]
yes, wigs are a bad idea. it’s nice to know that you have the self confidence not to care what people think when it falls off, but it’s best just to keep it natural. go talk to your hair stylist, and maybe get a cute new, shorter, thinner look to make your hair better until it is replaced with natural grown real hair. meanwhile, use a shampoo and conditioner (head and shoulders or panteen are best) for dry, damaged, or color treated hair. leave the conditioner in for a while longer than you normally would, like while you use body wash or whatever, and rinse it out. finnish with a de-frizzing cream when you get out. You may want to straighten your hair for a while, but that would mean getting a new straightener, in which case i’d say that the mid- price ones are really worth the extra money, as the cheap ones would make it worse. other than that, i’d say that the best thing that i can tell you would be to meet the ponytail: your new best friend.
the best thing to do is buy the wig. wearing the wig will make it easier for your hair to recover from the past damage
For you, maybe you could! Or I suggest going to a stylist that wasn’t the one where you got the recent perms at. Ask them if there is anything they could do to moisturize your hair more. They could give you a shorter cut that doesn’t require much care and will get better over time. Here are some lovely examples: http://hairstyleschat. com/tag/choppy-hairstyle
Or, if this doesn’t work for you, feel free to get that awesome wig. =P I do like it. But I was just offering the mor reasonablt option, not telling you what to do. Plus, it should always grow back healthier and fuller. =D
I’d try using herbal essences shampoo and conditioner for dried out hair and the aussie three minute miracle conditioning treatment, these will help bring your back to life immediately. Then if you want straight or straighter bangs, straighten them using a skinny straightner. Trust me, this way keeps your hair looking a lot healthier.
However, if you’re gung ho about a wig, I don’t think it’d be such a bad idea. . I was considering that too when i got my perm. :p
But trust me, the stuff i stated before really does work. Good luck either way.
